What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2002 Forest River Cedar Creek, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

WHY WAS DOMETIC NOT REQUIRED TO FIX THE DEFECTIVE BOILER TUBES ON IT'S REFRIGERATORS,INSTEAD OF JUST LETTING THEM SHUT THEM DOWN WHEN THEY LEAKED? THE ROOT CAUSE WAS DEFECTIVE TUBING. MY UNIT STOPPED WORKING SO DOMETIC SAID THAT THEY HAVE NO REPONSIBITY UNTIL THE UNIT IS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN. SEE ISSUE BELOW. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FOREST RIVER CEDAR CREEK TRAILER. THE VEHICLE HAS A DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR, MODEL RM2852. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V85000 IN REGARDS TO THE BURNER HOUSING DEFECT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD PAY FOR THE PACKAGE TO BE INSTALLED IN THE REFRIGERATOR. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO REGISTER THE TRAILER, FOR DIESEL FUEL WHEN PULLING THE TRAILER TO COLORADO SPRINGS, AND FOR INSURANCE FOR THE TRAILER. THE CONTACT DID NOT BELIEVE THAT HE SHOULD HAVE TO DO ALL OF THIS IN ORDER FOR A RECALL TO BE REPAIRED. CURRENTLY, HE IS USING ELECTRICITY TO POWER HIS REFRIGERATOR. THE PURCHASE DATE AND PART NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. UPDATED 07/10/08. *LJ UPDATED 07/08/08
