What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2008 Forest River Charleston, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

From owner reports, verbatim
FRONT SIDE WALLS (STRUCTURE) SEPARATING FROM FRAME SUPPORT, SIDE WALLS SEPARATING MOVING INDEPENDENTLY FROM FLOORING. SCREWS ATTACHING SIDE WALL OF MOTOR HOME SHEARING CAUSING WALL SEPARATION. FRONT OF MOTOR HOME DROP AT LEAST ONE INCH. AIR ENTERING INTO PASSENGER AREA THROUGH GAP CREATED FROM WALL SEPARATION AND DROP. SCREWS USED TO ATTACH SIDE WALLS OF MOTOR HOME NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO SUPPORT SIDE WALLS. OTHERS HAVE HAD REPAIRS AND REPEATED FAILURES. *TR
RV STANDING STILL AT THE TIME. PIECE OF TRIM FELL OFF. 1.5" X 1.5" X 13.5', SQUARE 1/8" THICK ALUMINUM TUBING. APPROX. 20 LBS. YOU CAN IMAGINE WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED IF I WAS DOING 60 MPH ON THE FREEWAY!!! FOUND THAT IT WAS SECURED BY 4, SELF TAPPING SCREWS, THAT HAD SHEARED OFF. I HAVE THE SAME KIND OF TRIM ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COACH (MUCH LONGER PIECE), WHERE I FOUND AT LEAST ONE SHEARED SCREW ALREADY. CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY SAID (JUST BRING IT IN AND GET IT FIXED!) KIND OF SCARES ME NOT KNOWING IF IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I DON'T SEE WHY NOT! THIS IS A FOREST RIVER, GEORGETOWN, MODEL 373. I'M PROVIDING THIS INFO BECAUSE YOUR DROP DOWN DOES NOT SHOW THIS MODEL!! *TR
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
