Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
0
InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

IN EARLY SEPTEMBER 2018 I TOOK MY 2015 FOREST RIVER GREY WOLF 23DBH TRAILER TO A SERVICE CENTRE FOR WINTERIZATION. AT SERVICE CHECK-IN IT WAS NOTED THAT THE RUBBER GASKET AROUND THE SLIDE-OUT WAS COMING OUT. WHEN THE DEALER INVESTIGATED THEY FOUND THAT THE FRAME WAS FAILING, CAUSING THE WALL TO DROP. THIS WAS CAUSING THE SLIDE-OUT TO DROP. THE SLIDE WAS NOW SCRAPING ALONG THE INTERIOR FLOOR DESTROYING THE FLOORING. THE DEALER'S INVESTIGATION FOUND MULTIPLE PLACES IN THE FRAME WHERE IT WAS FAILING. PICTURES ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS SUBMISSION. THE FAILING OF THE FRAME WAS NOT ONLY CAUSING THE SLIDE TO FAIL, BUT THE BENDING OF THE FRAME HAS NOW CAUSED THE AXLES TO BEND AS WELL. IT WAS DESCRIBED TO ME AS FRAME AND OUTRIGGERS FAILING. I WAS TOLD IT IS PROBABLY UNSAFE TO TOW. LIPPERT COMPONENTS BUILT THE FRAME AND IT IS SOLD BY FOREST RIVER. BOTH ARE TELLING ME THIS IS NOT WARRANTY. HOW CAN A FRAME THAT IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD BE FAILING, AND FURTHERMORE NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. BRANDON AT FOREST RIVER TELLS ME THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM OF FOREST RIVER, AND WILL NOT EVEN HELP TO FIND A SOLUTION. IF A MANUFACTURER CAN SO EASILY DISREGARD A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THEIR PRODUCT, HOW SAFE ARE ANY OF THE OTHER PRODUCTS THEY PRODUCE? HOW SAFE IS THE PUBLIC WHO MAY NOT BE AWARE OF THIS POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD?

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
