2003 Forest River Cherokee Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FOREST RIVER CHEROKEE. THE VEHICLE HAS A DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR, MODEL RM2652. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT HIS REFRIGERATOR WAS NOT COOLING. HE CALLED A SERVICE MANAGER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BOILER WAS LEAKING AND THAT THE DEFECT WAS UNDER A RECALL. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP. ONCE AT THE SHOP, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR COULD NOT BE MADE BECAUSE THE BOILER HAD ALREADY LEAKED. IN ORDER TO PERFORM THE WORK MENTIONED IN THE RECALL, THE BOILER NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED; HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. HE CALLED DOMETIC AND THEY AGREED WITH THE MECHANIC. THE REFRIGERATOR IS CURRENTLY NOT WORKING AND HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. UPDATED 10/24/08. *LJ THE MANUFACTURER STATED THERE WERE NO LONGER REPLACING BOILERS. UPDATED 10/27/08. *JB
