Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
0
InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

18 APRIL 2017, AFTER AN APPROXIMATELY 5-MILE DELIVERY TRIP TO OUR HOME IN AYR, ONTARIO WITH A NEW CAMPER TRAILER, THE FRONT RIGHT CORNER OF THE CAMPER BODY WAS FOUND TO BE COMING LOOSE FROM ITS CHASSIS. THREE WOOD SCREW FASTENERS HAD WORKED THEIR WAY OUT AND SEVERAL ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE CHASSIS HAD NEVER BEEN INSTALLED. PRIOR TO A PENDING 3-MONTH JOURNEY, THE DEALER REPLACED ALL CHASSIS-TO-BODY FASTENERS WITH MORE SUBSTANTIAL ONES OF LARGER DIAMETER. LATE JUNE, ON SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION IN GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, AFTER 2417 MILES OF TRAVEL, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE REPLACEMENT CHASSIS-TO-BODY FASTENERS HAD ALSO WORKED LOOSE RENDERING THE CAMPER PRONE BECOMING A HIGHWAY HAZARD. ALL LOOSE FASTENERS WERE REMOVED, THE HOLES PACKED WITH HARD WOOD SLIVERS, THEN REPLACED SECURELY. TO DATE SOME MINOR TIGHTENING HAS BEEN REQUIRED BUT NO FASTENERS HAVE WORKED THEIR WAY OUT. OUR SAFETY CONCERN HAS BEEN REPORTED TWICE TO THE DEALER (SEE ATTACHED FILE) WITH NO RESPONSE TO-DATE. THE MANUFACTURER MAY HAVE TAKEN APPROPRIATE ACTION TO RECALL AND CORRECT THIS DEFECT, BUT AS WE HAVE HEARD NOTHING IN THAT REGARD WE ARE NOW REPORTING THIS CONCERN DIRECTLY TO THE NHTSA. *JS

THIS UNIT HAS A FIRE HAZARD. REFRIGERATOR IS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. COUNTER ABOVE REFRIGERATOR GETS SO HOT YOU CAN NOT TOUCH. REFRIGERATOR IS NOT INSULATED ON THE SIDES AND THE FLAME FROM THE GAS MAKES THE WOOD IN THE CABINET SMELL LIKE ITS BURNING.*DT *TR

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
