2015 Forest River Crusader Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

ON A RECENT TRIP OUR SPARE TIRE SUPPORT SNAPPED WHILE WE WERE TRAVELING ON A BUSY FREEWAY IN CA. THE SPARE TIRE AND SUPPORT ROD WENT BOUNCING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND ALMOST STRUCK SEVERAL VEHICLES. IT WAS BY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT SOMEONE WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. IN CHECKING THE ROD IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE SUPPORT ROD HAD BEEN SPOT WELDED IN A COUPLE PLACES TO PUT TOGETHER TWO RODS. WE HAVE DEAR FRIENDS WHO ALSO BOUGHT A CRUSADER SHORTLY AFTER WE DID SO WE HAD THEM CHECK AND THERE SUPPORT FOR THEIR SPARE IT WAS ALSO WEAK AND APPEARED TO BE SPOT WELDED. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURE.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
