2024 Forest River Flagstaff Problems

The contact owns a 2024 Forest River Flagstaff. The contact stated that upon returning to the trailer, heavy white smoke filled the entire trailer. The contact cut the power to the RV and discovered that there was an internal fire within the control board. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the control board manufacturer for assistance. The contact called the manufacturer of the control board and agreed to have the control board replaced under warranty. The repair was performed by an RV mechanic. Recently, while in the bathroom of the RV, the contact smelled an electrical burning odor and immediately checked the control board and saw flames. The contact's wife immediately cut off the electricity to the RV and extinguished the flames with a dry hand towel. The RV was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

The paramedics performed an evaluation and determined that the Carbon Monoxide level in the contact's body was abnormally high. The contact was immediately provided with fresh oxygen by the ambulance and was transported to the hospital. Upon evaluation at the hospital, the contact was informed that the Carbon Monoxide readings were off the charts, and Poison Control for Carbon Monoxide poisoning was contacted. The contact was diagnosed with abnormal EKG and tachycardia. Additionally, the contact was diagnosed with high level of lactic acid in the body and was close to septic shock. The contact informed the dealer of the failure and was advised that the RV needed to be inspected. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that he would be contacted by the legal department; however, the contact received a call from the warranty resolution department, which asked the contact about the desired resolution. The manufacturer then informed the dealer that the contact would be responsible for the difference if the RV was traded in, which the contact declined. The RV was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,100.
