Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

The defect: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Forest River Primetime Impression fifth wheels, model MPF3000RLS-49. The side marker lights are not located in the correct spot, reducing visibility of the vehicle to other drivers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk: Reduced visibility of the fifth wheel can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will remedy the vehicles, free of charge. The recall began November 1, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-862-1025. Forest River's number for this recall is 49-0891.

Docking Station Door Melting 2019 Forest River 34Mid Impression: Forest River and their infinite wisdom designed this model with the Docking Station (which is made of plastic) one inch above and directly above the hot water heater heat exhaust vent. Now we all know what heat does to plastic..... It melts it!!! When it was under warranty, they said they didn't understand why it would do this (This is where the dealers play the dumb act with you). So, you repeat yourself and it gets nowhere. Of course the dealer said they didn't design it and to call Forest River. And, of course Forest River said you need to take it up with the dealer. Everybody scratched their heads and replaced the melted plastic door with another plastic door. Wow! Now that's smart! The replacement door has, of course, melted, too. This seems like a major safety concern to have something melting and possibly could catch fire if it gets hot enough. I ask, how did this design get through and be built in the first place??? Where are the inspections on RVs to assure the safety of owners and users???

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
