The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH SAFETY BELT ASSEMBLIES PRODUCED BY AM-SAFE. ON SOME SEAT BELTS, THE BUCKLE AND CONNECTOR MAY UNLATCH DURING A COLLISION.
The risk: SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH COULD OCCUR IF THE VEHICLE OCCUPANT IS NOT PROPERLY RESTRAINED.
The remedy: AM-SAFE NOTIFIED FOREST RIVER CUSTOMERS TO RETURN THEIR VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO HAVE THE SEAT BELTS REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. AM-SAFE IS CONDUCTING THE OWNER NOTIFICATION FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT AM-SAFE COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS AT 219-266-8330.

The defect: THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER HOIST COMPONENTS CAN BECOME LOOSE WHILE TRAVELING AND ALLOW THE SPARE TIRE TO MOVE FROM ITS STORED POSITION TO THE ROAD SURFACE.
The risk: THE SPARE TIRE CAN CONTACT THE ROAD SURFACE INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL ADD A PRIMARY SPARE TIRE SUPPORT BRACKET.

AMMONIA GAS LEAKED OUT DUE TO CRACK IN TUBE. SPOKE TO DOMETIC CONCERNING RECALL, AND DUE TO OUT OF WARRANTY (2000), THEY WILL ONLY DO THE RECALL WHEN THE UNIT IS WORKING. THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBE FOR THE LEAKAGE OR REPAIRING THE LEAKAGE THAT WAS CAUSED BY THE TUBE CRACKING. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FOREST RIVER MOTORHOME. THE VEHICLE HAS A DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR, MODEL RM2652. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REFRIGERATOR IS LEAKING AMMONIA. DOMETIC STATED THAT THEY WERE NO LONGER HONORING THE RECALL. UPDATED 10/20/08. *LJ UPDATED 10/21/08.*JB

I HAVE A 1993, VECTRA, DIESEL PUSHER, AND I HAVE NOTICED THAT SOME OF THE CROSS-MEMBERS BETWEEN THE CHASSIS AND THE FLOOR OF THE COACH, FROM JUST IN FRONT OF THE REAR AXLE TO THE REAR OF THE COACH, HAVE BROKEN OR HAVE CRUSHED. OVER TIME, THE COACH BODY CAN COME DOWN ON THE CHASSIS. THE PROPANE GAS LINE, WHICH RUNS ACROSS THE COACH BETWEEN THE CHASSIS AND THE COACH BODY, CAN BE CRUSHED OR BROKEN CREATING THE POTENTIAL FOR A SERIOUS FIRE OR EXPLOSION.*AK
