2015 Forest River Palomino Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

OUR RV HAS SOFT AREAS IN OUR ENTIRE FLOOR DUE TO FLOOR JOISTS BEING TOO FAR APART AND SUB STANDARD MATERIALS BEING USED. FOREST RIVER WILL REPAIR IF YOU WERE ORIGINAL OWNER BUT WE PURCHASED OUR 1 YEAR OLD UNIT IN AUGUST OF 2016....THESE UNITS SHOULD BE RECALLED. I CAN SUPPLY YOU WITH 82 OWNERS WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS...THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A FACTORY DESIGN FLAW, WHICH I FEEL SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT THE COMPANY'S EXPENSE. IT SHOULDN'T MATTER WHETHER YOU'RE THE ORIGINAL OWNER OR NOT. THE FLAW IS STILL THERE. WE WERE TOLD BY FOREST RIVER REPRESENTATIVES THAT THE NHTSA MANDATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR OUR UNIT BECAUSE WE WERE NOT ORIGINAL OWNER.PLEASE RECONSIDER IF THIS IS TRUE...IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I FEEL THAT WE ARE GOING TO FALL THROUGH WALKING ACROSS IT AT TIMES... AND ARE IN NO FINANCIAL POSITION TO REPAIR IT OURSELVES.THIS IMPACTS US MORE THAN OTHERS BECAUSE THIS IS OUR PRIMARY RESIDENCE..WE VOLUNTEER AT DIFFERENT WILDLIFE REFUGES, WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS AND FISH HATCHERIES AND THIS UNIT IS OUR HOME...WE WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP WE HAVE ONLY HAD THIS RV FOR 7 MONTHS. THANK YOU THANK YOU THE PEOPLE WE HAVE CONTACTED [XXX] AND [XXX] WE ALSO HAVE A COMPLAINT AND CASE NUMBER TO THE BBB BUT FOREST RIVER NEVER GOT BACK TO THEM AFTER THE MANDATORY 10 DAY TIME FRAME...THANK YOU [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
