TIRE: GOODYEAR MARATHON ST235/80R16 LOAD RANGE E DOT 2VUN1LHR 1512 2013 FOREST RIVER BLUE RIDGE 5TH WHEEL TRAILER VIN: 4X4FBLG20DG0988669 TWO TIRE BLOWOUTS, 1ST BLOWOUT AT 62 MPH ON VIRGINIA I95 TRAVELING NORTH AT MILE MARKER 90. 2ND BLOWOUT AT 56 MPH ON VIRGINIA I 95 TRAVELING NORTH AT MILE MARKER 113 ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER THE FIRST BLOWOUT. TIRES HAD NO DRY ROT OR CRACKING AND APPROXIMATELY 2400 MILES ON THE TREAD. AIR PRESSURE IN EACH TIRE WAS CHECKED PRIOR TO TRAVEL WHILE COLD AND CONTAINED 80 LBS OF PRESSURE. ALL LUG NUTS ON TRAILER WERE TORQUED. BOTH TIRE FAILURES WERE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRAILER. 1ST BLOWOUT ON THE FRONT AXLE & 2ND BLOWOUT ON BACK AXLE. THERE WERE NO ROAD HAZARDS, HOLES IN PAVEMENT, OR CRACKS IN PAVEMENT. WEATHER WAS SUNNY, AIR TEMPERATURE WAS 85 DEGREES F WITH LITTLE OR NO WIND. EVENTS OCCURRED BETWEEN 2;30PM AND 4:00PM 21 SEPTEMBER 2016
UPON PRE-TRAVEL INSPECTION OF MY FOREST RIVER 25RR TRAVEL TRAILER TIRES ALL 4 VAIL SPORT ST205/75D14 HAVE SIGNIFICANT SIDEWALL CRACKING, WITH ONE HAVING A BULGE. THERE IS APPROXIMATELY 5000 MILES ON THE TT, AND IT IS A 2013 MODEL. I DECIDED TO REPLACE THE TIRES AS I DID NOT SEE THEM AS SAFE FOR USE.
