The contact owns a 2024 Forest River Wildwood Trailer. The contact stated that excessive heat generated by the oven and there was no venting system around the appliance. The contact stated that during normal operation, the heat buildup caused melting of the backsplash behind the oven and melting and heat damage beneath an adjacent drawer. The contact stated that smoke, overheating, and melting were observed. No fire had occurred; however, the contact expressed concerns that there was a potential fire hazard. The trailer was permanently parked and was not inspected. A repair shop inspected the trailer onsite and advised the contact that the oven, backsplash, and venting system needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer advised using smaller pots while operating the oven; however, the contact remained concerned that the lack of venting had not been addressed. The contact stated that the manufacturer declined the warranty coverage or goodwill assistance to repair the RV. The RV was not repaired.
