The defect: ON CERTAIN TRAILER MOUNTED BOOMS, THE HOLD-DOWN LATCHES THAT SECURE THE MAST ARE NOT BEING PROPERLY LATCHED.
The risk: AS A RESULT, STRUCTURAL FAILURE OF THE TONGUE TUBE COULD OCCUR CAUSING THE TRAILER TO BECOME UNSTABLE DURING TRANSPORT, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A TONGUE REINFORCEMENT KIT AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 14, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT GENIE AT 1-866-927-7269.
