2005 Georgie Boy Cruise Master Le Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

OUR DOGS STARTED TO BARK JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT. MY HUSBAND WENT TO INVESTIGATE WHETHER A BEAR THAT HAD PREVIOUSLY RAMPAGED THROUGH THE GARBAGE CANS OUTSIDE THE MOTOR HOME WE LIVE IN HAD COME BACK. OUR MOTOR HOME, A 2005 GEORGIE BOY CRUISER MASTER 3640 TS, WAS PARKED IN A HOUSEHOLD DRIVEWAY THAT REQUIRES RAMPS FOR LEVELING AT THE TIME. HE FLIPPED THE SWITCHES NEAR THE DOOR TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS; UNFORTUNATELY THE SWITCH TO KEEP THE STEPS RETRACTED IS NEXT TO THE LIGHT SWITCHES AND HE FLIPPED THAT ONE INSTEAD. HE OPENED THE DOOR TO THE MOTOR HOME AND TRIED TO STEP OUT ONTO THE STEPS; HOWEVER, THE STEPS WERE NOT OUT AS EXPECTED EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR WAS OPEN AND HE FELL 3 FEET TO THE ASPHALT OF THE DRIVEWAY. HE FELL ON HIS LEFT SIDE PUTTING MOST OF THE WEIGHT OF HIS BODY ONTO HIS HAND, WRIST AND ARM. THE LARGE BONE IN HIS ARM BROKE AND RAMMED DOWN INTO HIS HAND AND WRIST PULVERIZING THE BONES. HE ALSO CUT HIS LEFT TEMPLE AND SEVERELY BRUISED HIS SHOULDER. WE TOOK HIM TO THE ER. THEY PUT THE ARM BONE BACK IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND USED DERMA BOND TO SEAL THE CUT ON HIS TEMPLE, BUT THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR THE HAND AND WRIST. A SURGICAL OPERATION WAS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. THE ER NURSE TOLD US THIS WAS THE WORST BREAK HE HAS SEEN IN 25 YEARS. MY HUSBAND NOW HAS A SURGICALLY IMPLANTED PLATE WITH WIRES ATTACHED THAT THE SHATTERED BONE IN HIS WRIST AND HAND CAN ADHERE TO. THE DOCTOR DOES NOT KNOW IF HE WILL HAVE THE FULL USE OF HIS HAND IN THE FUTURE. OUR CONCERN IS DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE LIGHT SWITCHES AND THE STEP SWITCH, THIS TYPE OF ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR WITH EVEN WORSE RESULTS LIKE FALLING HEAD FIRST OR SMALL CHILDREN FALLING. THE STEPS SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN MECHANIZED TO STAY RETRACTED IF THE MOTOR HOME DOOR IS OPENED. THERE SHOULD AT LEAST BE AN ALARM OR FLASHING LIGHT ON THE SWITCH TO ALERT US SO WE WOULD BE AWARE THAT THE STAIRS WERE RETRACTED. AT A MINIMUM, THE STEP SWITCH SHOULD BE PLACED AWAY FROM THE LIGHT SWITCHES. *TR

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
