1999 Gulf Stream Ultra Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

FORD RECALL 05S28, I CONTACTED SEVERAL FORD DEALERS LOCATED IN THE SAN ANTONIO AREA DURING SEPTEMBER AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE AND THEY ALL INFORMED ME THAT NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO EFFECT THE REPAIRS DETAILED IN THE RECALL. THEY ALSO REPORTED THAT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN JAN 2008. I RECENTLY CONTACTED THE FORD DEALERS AGAIN AND NOW THEY TELL ME THAT PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN MARCH 2008. IT SEEMS THAT EITHER THE DEALERS DO NOT WANT TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIRS OR THAT FORD HAS NOT MADE THE NECESSARY PARTS AVAILABLE. A FORD SERVICE REP INFORMED ME THAT THIS RECALL BEGAN OVER THREE YEARS AGO AND THAT MOTOR HOMES WERE INCLUDED IN MID 2007. I HOPE THAT YOU CAN LIGHT A FIRE UNDER FORD TO GET THE PARTS OR GET THE DEALERS TO AGREE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE NECESSARY TO MAKE THE MANDATED REPAIRS. *TR

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
