What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2010 Harley-Davidson Flht, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.

From owner reports, verbatim
I PULLED OUT OF MY GARAGE ON MY 2010 ELECTRA GLIDE CLASSIC AND WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE STOP SIGN ON THE STREET AT APPROX 10 MPH I WENT TO APPLY MY FRONT BRAKE AND FOUND I COULD NOT MOVE MY FRONT BRAKE LEVER. LUCKILY MY REAR BRAKE HAD WORKED AND I WAS ABLE TO STOP MOTORCYCLE BEFORE AND DAMAGE OCCURRED. THERE WAS NO APPARENT ISSUES WITH MY BRAKE SYSTEM (NO FLUID LEAKS) SO I CALLED MY HD DEALER AND THEY HAD TOLD ME MY ABS MODULE HAD FAILED DUE TO LACK OF CHANGING MY BRAKE FLUID AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES WITH ABS BRAKING OVER THE YEARS, AND CONTINUE TO OWN ABS BRAKING VEHICLES, AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO, OR REQUIRED TO CHANGE MY BRAKE FLUID TO PREVENT A CATASTROPHIC EVENT. YOU WOULD THINK THAT A MOTORCYCLE WITHOUT BRAKES IS AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS EVENT, AND IF HARLEY DAVIDSON KNEW THAT IF YOU DID NOT REPLACE THE BRAKE FLUID EVERY 2 YEARS YOUR BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD FAIL, THAT THEY WOULD BE VERY CLEAR IN LETTING ME KNOW THIS BOTH VERBALLY WHEN I PURCHASED THE BIKE, AND WITH SOME KIND OF SIGNAGE SOMEWHERE OBVIOUS ON THE BIKE TO STATE THAT IF YOU DON'T REPLACE BRAKE FLUID YOUR BRAKES WOULD FAIL.
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
