2004 Harley-Davidson Flstci Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I HEARD A STRANGE SOUND AND LOSS OF POWER SO PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY TO CHECK IT OUT. WHEN I PULLED OVER, COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG SO ATTEMPTED TO GO AGAIN AND THE BIKE WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE. HAD IT TOWED TO THE HOUSE AND THE NEXT DAY I FOUND THAT ALL 5 OF THE CHROME BOLTS ON THE REAR DRIVE BELT PULLEY HAVE ALL SHEARED. CALLED THE HARLEY DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD THE TIRES REPLACED JUST A MONTH EARLIER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS NOT AN ISSUE OF THEIRS AND WOULD NOT HELP ME. SAID THEY WOULD NOT HAVE REMOVED TO REPLACE THE REAR TIRE. AFTER RESEARCHING THE NET I FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL BIKES THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE SO ID THOUGHT I WOULD REPORT IT.
