What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2003 Harley-Davidson Fxdp, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

From owner reports, verbatim
2003 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXDP M/C. HAD BOTH TIRES CHANGED BY AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE BUSINESS. NOTE: CHANGING TIRES ON A M/C REQUIRES THE VEHICLE TO BE REALIGNED. FROM THIS TIME THE M/C BEGAN TO WOBBLE, AND BECAME UNSTABLE. I RETURNED IT TO SAME BUSINESS WHO COULD NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM, AND HAVE PRESENTED IT TO 3 DIFFERENT HARLEY DAVIDSON DEALERS WHO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. BEING THAT IT IS A M/C THAT IS UNSTABLE, IT IS A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING CONDITION. EACH OF THE REPAIR ATTEMPTS INVOLVED CHANGING AND/OR SERVICING THE STEERING HEAD BEARINGS, FRONT FORKS (SHOCK ABSORBERS), AND ALIGNMENT ADJUSTMENTS. HAVE ALSO CHANGED TO ANOTHER BRAND OF TIRE, ALL TO NO AVAIL. *JB
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
