Battery goes dead. Motorcycle would not start. Dealership has no idea what happened. Fuel pump issues on this model as well as electrical issues. The manufacturer has made modifications on the 2024 and newer models. They should replace all of the defective parts.

Fuel pump has become excessivily loud to the point of you have to turn up the radio volume in helmet to hear music. During start up the noise is very loud as to someone raising their voice levels. Harley Davidson Dealer states that until the pump finally fails they will not fix or replace.

There is an issue with the alcohol in the fuel, causing degradation within the fuel tank and leaving corrosive deposits in the filter screens within the fuel pump, causing the fuel pump to fail. The fuel pump was replaced in the summer of 23 and I now have another fuel pump failing this date January 17, 2025.

I was participating in a funeral procession ride for a fallen fellow law enforcement officer with approximately 20 plus riders. During the procession I was riding my motorcycle at highway speeds of 75 mph when my motorcycle shut off completely. Luckily I was able to alert the riders around me and I was able to pull over to the shoulder. At the highway shoulder, I was able to restart my motorcycle and resumed the ride. A few hours later, I was almost home when my motorcycle shut off again in the same manner at busy intersection. This time I was stopped at a red light, when it turned green, I travelled a few feet when it happened. I was in the left lane of the light, when i experienced the failure other cars immediately began to swerve around me until I once again motioned for the drivers around me to stop so I could push my motorcycle to safe spot. I restarted the motorcycle a few minutes after and continued to my house where it has been parked since the date the incidents occurred which was on [XXX]. Internet research into the symptoms of failure my motorcycle experienced led to what may possibly be a faulty Body Control Module (BCM). I will soon be taking my motorcycle to the local Harley Davidson dealership for accurate diagnosis of the failure. I have lost trust in the safety of my motorcycle as a result of this major possible electrical failure. I own a 2022 Harley Davidson Pan America, I purchased the motorcycle in new condition at the Corpus Christi Harley Davidson dealership in Corpus Christi, TX. Two issues. Please consider ordering a recall for this 2022 year model. 1. Passenger grab rail. The first time I pulled up on the rail to place the motorcycle on the center stand (as instructed in the owners manual), the grab handle broke, separated from the dowl connecting point. Had this occurred while riding with a passenger this could have led to my passenger falling off the bike. It is useless now. The service manager at the Harley-Davidson dealership says they cannot fix it as the bike is out of warranty. It is a defect. 2. The coolant hose from the radiator is routed approximately 1/4 inch from the front exhaust header causing the bike to run extremely hot. The service manager at the Harley-Davidson dealership said they cannot reroute the hose until there is visual damage to the hose or a failure. “This is a safety issue and concern as well as an environmental issue” it will eventually lead to the hose blistering and bursting spilling coolant on the ground. What if I am in heavy city traffic, in the desert with no cell phone service or some place at night with no help, any of these scenarios put me in great danger. At the very least this defect should be added to the 5 year environmental warranty list of items to be corrected by the motor company. Please let me know your decision so that I may get these items corrected at my cost if necessary. Thank you.

The coolant hose on the lower right side of the radiator is positioned very closely to the front cylinder exhaust pipe. Installation guidance is 7mm clearance prior to any hose bulge due to temperatures associated with engine cooling. This resulted in the coolant hose being exposed to very high temperatures, causing it to melt to the point of coolant exiting the system. The spray of coolant is positioned in such a way that it sprays onto the rider, the right side of the rear tire and the road, posing significant hazard to the rider and the vehicle if operated at anything greater than approximately 10 mph. The manufacturer is aware of the issue as they corrected it in the 2023 model year with an updated radiator featuring a clamp to ensure separation, though no correction or recall has been offered to earlier model years where this flaw exists. The problem has not yet been inspected or reproduced. No visual signals were present prior to the melting of the coolant pipe, and due to the low clearance between this coolant pipe and the exhaust pipe, the problem was not detected prior to the temperatures melting through the coolant pipe, resulting in coolant spray onto the exposed exhaust pipe.

The motorcycle was bought new in January and it has a problem occasionally where when stopping and using the quick shifter to down shift the bike jumps up in RPM and surges forward uncontrollably. This overpowers the brakes and causes a far longer stopping distance than what is planned. I have been to Brandywine Harley Davidson and Rommel Harley Davidson and they both told me that I would have to pay between 75 to 120$ just for them to do a diagnostics on it. I told them that this was a safety concern and should be fixed under warranty but they said that they would still charge a diagnostic fee, but the parts would be covered. I then called Harley corporate to report the safety concern and they said the same thing. They don’t seem to care how unsafe it is as long as they can make money off of it. I have owned my bike for less then two months and it has 112 miles on it. Last night it had 5 errors on it. This morning it had 11 errors. This is a known issue with Harley and causes the bike not to start on several occasions. I have less then 100 miles and have been stranded twice. I was told by the dealership the electrical issues have been solved for 2022 but that is not true by example of my bike. I have a friend who has the same bike with the same electrical issues and has been stranded more times then me. It is unacceptable to have a motorcycle with barely 100 miles on it that is unreliable. Also, I asked the dealerships what is the fix. They do not know. They have to wait till someone Harley Corporate and fixed them but does not explain or tell the local Harley how to fix it. I’m afraid to take my Harley on a trip due to the potential of the electrical issues. This has been a problem since 2021, please help to fix it or recall the bikes. Thank you.

Throttle tends to rev and stick at 4000rpm randomly. Not sure if this is caused by the system software or hardware failure or both. Once this happens the engine functions erratically and the exhaust pipes will heat up until they are red hot and will melt and cause a fire or explosion in the vehicle. The dealership and the manufacturer have been made aware of this tremendous vehicle safety hazard and I am filing this complaint to the NHTSA to ensure that this case is noticed and handled appropriately. My primary concern is for my safety and the safety of everyone who owns this vehicle or plans to purchase it in the future. I was fortunate to have this happen to me while traveling close to home on residential streets. Had I been on the highway and this situation occurred it could have proved to be fatal and my grieving family would be filing this complaint instead of me.

The TFT (display) intermittently goes black while riding and / or when starting. This is a huge safe issue. You don’t know if the gear is in neutral, turn signals engine temperature, etc cannot be monitored… the biggest issues when you come to a stop and you don’t know what gear you are in causing stalling in high traffic areas, intersections, etc. Harley is well aware of the issue and refuses to correct this issue. I’ve complained several times and they have not fixed the issue.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
