JUNE 19, 2016 - MOTORCYCLE IN MOTION ON A CURVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND ENGINE ACCELERATED WITHOUT THROTTLE INPUT (THROTTLE STUCK) WHILE IN A TURN AND ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN. JUNE 25, 2016 - MOTORCYCLE IN MOTION ATTEMPTING TO COME TO A STOP ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE ENGINE ACCELERATED WITHOUT THROTTLE INPUT (THROTTLE STUCK.) AUGUST 19, 2016 - MOTORCYCLE IN MOTION ON FREEWAY FOR APPROX. 30 MILES. WHEN EXITING AT OFF-RAMP ATTEMPTING TO STOP, ENGINE ACCELERATED WITHOUT THROTTLE INPUT (THROTTLE STUCK). REPORTING THIS PROBLEM FOR DOCUMENTATION/POSSIBLE RECALL PURPOSES, AS I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER MOTORCYCLE AS A COLLATERAL EXCHANGE ONCE A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH HARLEY HEADQUARTERS. This bulletin informs dealers of the availability of new batteries for new Original Equipment (OE) vehicle production and in the Parts and Accessories (P&A) catalog. Availability of the new Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries will vary by market and will be transitioning over the next few months. NOTE: The ring terminal screws are not compatible between Leoch and East Penn batteries. The new batteries will include new ring terminal screws, which must be used. The ring terminal screws from the old battery need to be discarded.
