The defect: Heil Environmental (Heil) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Rear Loader, Side Loader, Front End Loader and Rolloff Body/Hoist garbage trucks. The hydraulic oil tank brackets may crack, causing the oil tank to detach from the chassis frame rails and leak hydraulic oil.
The risk: Hydraulic oil leaking onto the roadway can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Heil will notify owners, and dealers will replace both oil tank supporting brackets, free of charge. The recall began October 18, 2018. Owners may contact Heil customer service at 1-866-275-4345. Heil's number for this recall is BRACKET.

This Service Bulletin addresses a mandatory inspection for cracks on Hydraulic Oil Tank Mounting Brackets on Heil Front End Loader (FEL), Automated Side Loader (ASL), and Rear End Loader (REL) units identified in the Products Affected section below. If one or both angle brackets fail, the hydraulic oil tank could become unstable, potentially coming loose from the frame rail. The corrective action is to inspect for cracks on the two Hydraulic Oil Tank Mounting Brackets and replace both brackets if cracks are found on either of them. Do not try to repair a cracked bracket.

This Service Bulletin addresses a mandatory inspection for cracks on Hydraulic Oil Tank Mounting Brackets on Heil Front End Loader (FEL), Automated Side Loader (ASL), and Rear End Loader (REL) units identified in the Products Affected section below. If one or both angle brackets fail, the hydraulic oil tank could become unstable, potentially coming loose from the frame rail. The corrective action is to inspect for cracks on the two Hydraulic Oil Tank Mounting Brackets. The first inspection should be done immediately upon receipt of this bulletin. Contact your local Heil Dealer immediately if cracks are found on either of the brackets. If cracks are found on inspection, take the vehicle to your local Heil Dealer and the Dealer will replace both brackets at no charge to you. Do not try to repair a cracked bracket.
