What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1999 Holiday Rambler Endeavor, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE DEALER NEVER DISCLOSED THAT THE VEHICLE THEY PURCHASED WAS A BUY BACK THROUGH THE LEMON LAW, THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER REPAIRED PRIOR TO THE CONSUMERS PURCHASING IT, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WIHOUT WARNING, THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE DEALER EXTEND THE WARRANTY BUT THEY REFUSED. NLM
THE VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN, CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE CAUSE IS WATER SOAKING THE ENGINE AIR INTAKE WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FILTER ASSEMBLY NEAR THE ROADWAY. * MJS

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON THE FRONT AXLE THERE IS NO CENTER BOLT, ALLOWING THE FRONT AXLE AND SPRING TO SLIP FORWARD AND BACKWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHERE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT WAS UNWILLING TO ASSIST WITH THE PROBLEM. SECONDLY, THERE IS A SHIFTING OF THE DOOR BETWEEN THE BATHROOM AND THE KITCHEN, PREVENTING CLOSURE OF THE DOOR. THIS IS ACCOMPANIED BY A THUMPING NOISE IN THE FLOOR. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL# 02V237000. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.
ODOMETER & TRIP ODOMETER ARE HARD TO READ IN DAYLIGHT. AN ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR AS YOU HAVE TO TAKE EYES OF THE ROAD TOO LONG TO TRY AND READ MILEAGE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 HOLIDAY RAMBLER ENDEAVOR. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE CONTACT APPLIED HIS FOOT TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK FROM THE RIGHT TO THE LEFT. THE FAILURE MADE IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE STEERING. THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FAILURE EVERY TIME HE APPLIED HIS FOOT TO THE BRAKE FIRMLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME, THE DEALER CHECKED THE WHEEL BEARINGS, THE SECOND TIME, THE DEALER GREASED AND INSPECTED THE BRAKE CAM AND THERE WERE NO REPAIRS PERFORMED THE THIRD TIME AS THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
