The defect: ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON CHEVROLET G-VAN CHASSIS, IT IS POSSIBLE, THAT ON SOME UNITS, THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WAS NOT ASSEMBLED CORRECTLY TO THE STRUCTURAL MEMBER OF THE VEHICLE. THE SWIVEL PLATE MAY NOT BE ATTACHED TO THE BOLT HOLDING THE RETRACTOR ASSEMBLY.
The risk: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE SEAT OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE AND REINSTALL THE SWIVEL PLATE CORRECTLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 25, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT HOME & PARK AT 1-888-762-3873.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HOME AND PARK ROADTREK 170. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 TO 45 MPH THE LOWER PART OF THE REAR WINDOW DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND SHATTERED ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT DIDN'T MENTION IF THERE WERE ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000. UPDATED 08/31/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR PASSENGER FELL OUT OF THE FRAME. THE CONSUMER STATED A RECALL WAS ISSUED. HOWEVER, HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED.
