1984 Honda Accord Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1984 Honda Accord, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE SEAT BELT IN MY VEHICLE DOESN'T FIT ME. HONDA DOES NOT MAKE A SEAT BELT EXTENSION. I'VE ALREADY BEEN TICKETED TWICE BY THE LAW. THE SECOND ONE IS PENDING I WOULD LIKE TO GO BEFORE THE JUDGE WITH AN EXPLANATION. I REALLY THINK THA T SOMEONE SHOULD LOOK INTO THE FACT WHY HONDA CORP. DOESN'T MAKE ONE. *AK

I HAD TAKEN MY 1984 HONDA ACCORD IN FOR BRAKES TO MY MECHANIC. AFTER LOOKING AT THE CAR ON THE LIFT HE STATED THAT THE FRAME HAD RUSTED THROUGH TO THE POINT THAT IT POSED A THREAT TO ME DRIVING AND THEREFORE REFUSED TO MAKE ANY FURTHER REPAIRS ON IT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MARYSVILLE TIRE AND AUTO SVS FOR A 2ND OPINION AND THERE, THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT HE TOO WOULD NOT MAKE ANY REPAIRS FOR THAT VERY SAME REASON. HE SUGGESTED THE AUTO BE SALVAGED. REVIEWING MY OPTIONS, I RELUCTANTLY AGREED AND HE OFFERED TO SALVAGE IT FOR ME. THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY MORNING I TOOK THE TITLE TO HIS SHOP AND SIGNED A WAIVER RELINQUISHING THE TITLE. ON AUGUST 19TH, 2003 AFTER WORK I STOPPED INTO A LOCAL GROCERY STORE AND MY CAR WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT. MARYSVILLE TIRE AND AUTO SERVICE, HAD TAKEN MY CAR AND SOLD IT OUT FROM UNDERNEATH ME..NOW WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS OR PROVIDE ME WITH THE WAIVER I HAD SIGNED..*AK
