What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2018 Honda CRF1000D, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Ranked by how many owner reports name each component category

Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.

THIS IS MY FIRST INSTANCE:I WAS RIDING ON THE 2 FREEWAY, AROUND 65MPH AND WHEN I TRIED TO OVERTAKE A SLOWER CAR, I OPENED UP THE TROTTLE AND THE BIKE LUGGED, AND SHOOK, LOSING POWER. STEADILY THE BIKE KEPT LOSING POWER UNTIL IT WAS NOT SAFE. I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS FAST AS I COULD BECUASE THERE WAS NO MORE POWER, AND CARS WERE FAST BEHIND ME. SECOND INSTANCE WAS WHILE RIDING ON THE 1 FREEWAY IN BAJA, AGAIN IWAS RIDING AROUND 65MPH AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED, I OPENED UP THE THROTTLE AND THE BIKE STARTED LOOSING POWER AND SHAKING ABRUPTLY. IT HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES. 1 IN LOS ANGELES AND 2 ON THE MEXICAN FREEWAYS. VERY UNSAFE. I AM STILL 3 WEEKS AWAY FROM MY COMING BACK TO THE US AND I AM SCARED OF BEING STRANDED IN THE LONELIEST HIGHWAYS IN BAJA, MEXICO.
