2022 Honda Grom125 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I have 100 miles on my 2022 Honda Grom motorcycle. At around 50 miles it began making a noise it in 4th and 5th gear. I am worried that the noise in those gears may be causing other issues to my gearbox which can put me in danger. Neutral is hard to find and it sometimes slips into a false neutral that shows as “- -“. Once I was downshifting from 4rd to 3rd and it fell into the false neutral leaving me in a dangerous spot where I could not accelerate. I have contacted Honda but not heard back and I am going to see my dealer next Thursday to see if they are willing to help. Researching my issue online yielded similar stories from other people with the exact same model. Some of them have had to pay dealers for repairs and others were turned away saying there’s no recall so they can’t help. Please help Honda recognize this issue before someone gets hurt.

Brand new motorcycle. Transmission is shifting hard and lots of whining and whirling noise coming from the engine block/Transmission/clutch. It's definitely a flawed design

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
