FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

The defect: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Grom 125 motorcycles manufactured June 12, 2013, to September 8, 2015, and 2014-2015 NSS300 & NSS300A motorcycles manufactured June 18, 2013 to March 19, 2015. The resin bracket inside the fuel pump of the affected motorcycles may swell and cause the pump impeller to seize.
The risk: If the fuel pump seizes, the motorcycle will stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with one that uses a metal bracket internally, free of charge. The recall began October 2016. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KC3 and KC4. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-672. Some, but not all, motorcycles that were remedied under that campaign are affected by this recall as well and need to have the fuel pump replaced again.

The defect: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2014 NSS300 and NSS300A scooters manufactured June 18, 2013, to September 12, 2013. The rear brake line connection on the affected vehicles may have been improperly tightened, allowing brake fluid to leak.
The risk: If the rear brake line leaks, there would be a reduction of loss of rear brake pressure and therefore rear braking function, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the rear brake line connection to specification, and fill the rear brake fluid reservoir, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 24, 2016. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is JY3.

The defect: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 ST1300PA, 2014-2015 CB500, CBR500, CRF250L, CBR650, CTX700, NSS300, VT750, VT1300, 2015 CB300F, CBR300, CBR600, and 2014-2016 NC700 motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, sealant may have been incorrectly applied to the starter relay switch, and as a result, the electrical system may have a loss of power.
The risk: A loss of electrical power may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace any affected starter relay switch, free of charge. The recall began on August 31, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is JS9 and JT0.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA FORZA-NSS300. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE GAS PISTON WHICH HOLDS THE HONDA NSS 300 SCOOTER SEAT OPEN HAS FAILED ON MANY OF THESE SCOOTERS. THE SEAT WILL DROP SLOWLY FROM THE OPEN POSITION - OR IT CAN DROP QUICKLY WHEN RELEASED. HONDA DEALER TECHNICIANS AS WELL AS MANY OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THE FAILURE OF THIS SEAT SUPPORT PART, EVEN ON SHOWROOM NEW SCOOTERS. THE TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO PROP OPEN THE SEAT WITH SOME ITEM. THE SEAT HOLD OPEN ROD WILL NOT STAY EXTENDED UNLESS A PERSON OR THING IS USED TO HOLD THE SEAT OPEN.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE CONTACT DID NOT FILE A POLICE REPORT AND ONLY MINOR INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 200. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

A REAR BRAKE LINE JOINT TORQUE Honda Motor Co., Ltd. is conducting a Safety Recall of all model year 2014 NSS300 and NSS300A (Forza) scooters. Honda has determined that during assembly, the rear brake line joint may have been improperly torqued. If the rear brake line joint is improperly torqued, brake fluid may leak causing a reduction or loss of rear brake pressure.
