2005 Honda PS250 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

ON 10/02/06, I PURCHASED A DUAL PURPOSE (ENDURO) MOTORCYCLE, ROKETA TERMINATOR 150 GY, FROM A DEALER WITHIN SOUTH FLORIDA. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE MOTORCYCLE HAD A 3 MONTH WARRANTY WITH HIM AND A 6 MONTH WARRANTY WITH THE ROKETA MANUFACTURER AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. THE MOTORCYCLE ONLY HAS 27 MILES OF STREET RIDING AND SINCE THE VERY FIRST DAY OF PURCHASE, THE GEARS COULD BE SHIFTED FROM FIFTH TO FIRST GEAR WHILE IT WAS BEING OPERATED. AT FIRST, I DID NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THE UNSAFE CONDITION. HOWEVER, NOW I HAD TO STOP RIDING THE EQUIPMENT BECAUSE I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT AS I WAS RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE AT 45 MPH ON THE STREET. MY SON TELLS ME THAT HIS FRIEND HAD A SIMILAR ROKETA MOTORCYCLE, WHICH HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAD TO SELL IT. THE MECHANICAL CONDITION THAT EXISTS ON THIS MOTORCYCLE IS VERY UNSAFE AND I BELIEVE THESE TYPE OF MOTORCYCLES SHOULD BE INSPECTED AND / OR RECALLED. EVERYTIME I CONTACT THE ROKETA MANUFACTURER TO DISCUSS THIS CONDITION, I AM TOLD BY ROKETA REPRESENTATIVES THAT THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK TO THE PUBLIC. REPRESENTATIVES OF THIS MANURFACTURER DIRECT ME TO SPEAK TO THE DEALER FROM WHOM THE EQUIPMENT WAS PURCHASED. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO NOW TELLS ME THAT THE WARRANTY SHOULD COME FROM ROKETA, SINCE HE IS NO LONGER SELLING ROKETA MOTORCYCLES. I NEED TO MAKE SURE THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE, AS I BELIEVE SOMEONE COULD BECOME SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED WHILE OPERATING THIS TYPE OF EQUIPMENT. THANK YOU. *NM

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
