2012 Honda VFR1200F Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

WHILE I WAS RIDING THRU A RIGHT HAND CURVE AT 55 MPH I HEARD TREMENDOUS VIBRATION FROM THE BIKE. I PULLED IN THE CLUTCH AND HEARD A LOUD BANG. THE REAR WHEEL LOCKED UP MOMENTARILY. I COASTED TO A STOP. I PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO FIRST GEAR AND TRIED TO MOVE BUT NO FORWARD MOVEMENT WAS POSSIBLE. THE DRIVESHAFT HAD BROKEN AT 23, 000 MILES.
