2001 Hyundai Caribbean Santa Fe Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I BROUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW 2 YEARS LATER I STARTED HAVING THIS VIBRATION PROBLEM I THOUGHT IT WAS THE CHEAP FACTORY TIRES THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SAID THAT IT WAS THE FACTORY TIRES. WELL THE PROBLEM IS THE RIMS NOT THE TIRES AND NOT THE SUSPENSION. THIS NICE OLD MAN WHO HAS A TIRE GARAGE POINTED THIS OUT TO ME THESE CHEAP FACTORY RIMS BEND SO EASILY THAT THE TIRE MOVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE . I HAD OTHER PEOPLE LOOK AT THE RIMS AND THEY COULDN'T SEE ANY THING WRONG WITH THEM. THANKS TO THAT NICE OLD MAN I HOPE EVERYBODY TAKES A LOOK AT THERE RIMS. *NM

CONSUMER NOTICED WHILE DRIVING STEERING WHEEL FAILED. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BUT WITH FORCE. IN GENERAL, STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN AND STEER. ALSO, POWER STEERING LEAKED OUT. CONSUMER DROVE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
