2001 Hyundai Excel Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 7 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2001 Hyundai Excel. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Transmission
Filed Sep 6, 2001

TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL BY IT SELF WHEN MAKING TURNS AND WHEN GAS IS APPLIED, ENGINE KEEPS REVVING. TRANSMISSION KICKS IN GEAR CAUSING A CRASH(A GOOD POSSIBILITY) AND WHEEL SPIN WHEN IT IS EQUIPPED WITH TCS!. TCS DOES NOT OPERATE. TRANSMISSION MADE WHINEY NOISE WHEN IT WAS NEW AND CONTACTED DEALER. THEY SAY IT WAS NORMAL(THEY ALWAYS DO! AND NEVER TRY TO FIX THE CAR) I BELIEVE THAT IS TO BLAME FOR THE PROBLEM. ENGINE STALLS AT A STOP. TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MANY OTHER PROBLEMS INVOLVED WITH THE CAR. SEATS MADE NOISE WHEN GOING UP AND DOWN, DEALER LUBED IT 2 TIMES ALREADY AND IT'S DOING IT AGAIN. SUNROOF RATTLES AND DEALER REFUSE TO FIX.*AK
