2000 Hyundai Xg Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I WAS DRIVING MY HYUNDAI SONATA WITH MY SON IN THE CAR WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE CAR STARTED VEERING TO THE RIGHT AND THE STEERING WAS HARD. I TRIED TO TURN TO GET TO SIDE OF ROAD OUT OF TRAFFIC AND THE CAR MADE A LOUD NOISE AND STARTED SHAKING. I THOUGHT MY TIRE WAS FLAT I GOT OUT AND THE WHEEL WAS ON THE GROUND.I WAS PETRIFIED I'M STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WITH CARS BLOWING. I CALLED ALLSTATE THEY TOWED TO NEAREST MECHANIC. I WAS TOLD ON MONDAY 03/09/09 THAT MY AXLE WAS BROKE, THE SUB FRAME WAS SEVERELY RUSTED AND THE COST OF REPAIRS ABOUT AROUND 2500.00. I DID FILE A COMPLAINT WITH HYUNDAI CONSUMER AFFAIRS. I'M JUST THANKING GOD ME AND MY CHILD WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
