The defect: Interstate Group LLC (Interstate) is recalling certain 2022-2023 ITLT716SA2 trailers. The steel tie-down flat straps could interfere with the operation of the trailer deck tilt latch when the trailer load is unevenly distributed.
The risk: Interference between the deck tilt latch and the tie-down straps can cause a pinch point, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy: Interstate will remove the steel tie-down flat straps and add a handle stop, free of charge. Owner notification letters were September 6, 2023. Owners may contact Interstate customer service at 1-877-850-7587.

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
