SUMMARY OF INFORMATION FROM MANUFACTURER:GRANVILLE BEGAN PRODUCTION IN JUNE 1984 AND INCREASED THE REAR GAWR ABOVE THE TOYOTA WEIGHT LIMITS CITING ...BASED UPON TEST RESULTS OF THE BRAKING CAPACITY OF THE DUAL REAR WHEEL ASSEMBLIES.. WITHOUT ANY DURABILITY CONSIDERATION.ANALYSIS: THE REPORTED FAILURES INVOLVE AXLE SHAFT FRACTURE, AFTERMARKET DUAL REAR WHEEL WELD FAILURE, AND FASTENER FAILURES.STATUS:GRANVILLE RECALLED 147 VEHICLES BY LETTER DATED 3/26/87.
