MOTORCYCLE STALLING
THIS PE WAS OPENED ON THE BASIS OF 5 OWNER STALLING ALLEGATIONS COMMONLY INVOLVING A MAIN HARNESS CONNECTOR AT THE IGNITION SWITCH.CURRENTLY ODI IS AWARE OF 7 INCIDENTS (TWO IN 2004, FOUR IN 2005, AND ONE IN FEB 2006) WHERE THE MOTORCYCLE STALLED.THE SINGLE INJURY CRASH OCCURRED ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2004.AFTER GATHERING INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS ISSUE FROM SUBJECT VEHICLE OWNERS, SUZUKI DEALERS, AND AMERICAN SUZUKI MOTOR CORPORATION, WE FIND NO DEFECT TREND CURRENTLY EXISTS CONCERNING THIS SUBJECT.WE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS MATTER CLOSELY.THE CLOSING OF THIS INVESTIGATION DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A FINDING BY NHTSA THAT NO SAFETY-RELATED DEFECT EXISTS.THE AGENCY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TAKE FURTHER ACTIO IF WARRANTED BY THE CIRCUMSTANCES.
