SUMMARY OF INFORMATION FROM MANUFACTURER:THE SUSPECT UNITS ARE EQUIPPEDWITH NON-GM PRIMARY FUEL TANKS (SIDE ENTRY RATHER THAN TOP OR CORNERENTRY), BUT USE REMAINDER OF GM SYSTEM.ANALYSIS:FUEL EXPULSION IN THESE VEHICLES CAN OCCUR UNDER A COMBINATIONOF THE FOLLOWING:USING THE FUEL TANK WHEN FULL, HIGH ENGINE LOADING(OR HIGH UNDERHOOD/UNDERCARRIAGE TEMPERATURES), HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURE,AND/OR HIGH ALTITUDE.UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THESE FACTORS, THE GASOLINECAN VOLATIZE IN EXCESS OF THE FUEL EMMISSION SYSTEM CAPACITY RESULTING INFUEL TANK PRESSURIZATION.OF THE 9 REPORTS, 4 ARE 1986, 5 ARE 1987.STATUS:CLOSE OUT PE, OPEN EA AND REDEFINE DEFECT TO ADDRESS CAUSE OF FUELEXPULSION (HIGH UNDERHOOD/UNDERCARRIAGE TEMPERATURE) AND THE EFFECT ONTHE NON-METALLIC FUEL RESERVOIR/UNDERCARRIAGE COMPONENTS.===
