1991 Jaguar Sovereign Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1991 Jaguar Sovereign, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

LOCAL JAGUAR DEALER (JAGUAR OF TROI) WILL NOT HONOR LIFETIME WARRANTY OF SEAT BELTS PER RECALL 93V179000. THEY CLAIM THAT JAGUAR DOES NOT HAVE ANY MORE PARTS. THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT NOW IS INOPERATIVE AND WOULD OFFER NO PERSONAL PROTECTION IN AN ACCIDENT. WEARING SEAT BELTS IS MANDATORY IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN. CAN THEY LEGALLY GET OUT OF HONORING THE LIFE TIME WARRANTY AND RECALL THAT COVERS ALL REPAIRS TO THIS SEAT BELT SYSTEM REGARDLESS OF AGE, MILEAGE OR OWNERSHIP ? I WOULD LIKE SOME HELP IN CONVINCING THIS DEALERSHIP AND THE JAGUAR MOTOR COMPANY THAT THEY ARE OBLIGATED BY LAW TO REPAIR THE SEAT BELTS IN MY VEHICLE - EVEN IF THEY NEED TO MAKE MORE PARTS. AFTER ALL, A "LIFETIME" WARRANTY MEANS "FOREVER", RIGHT ? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY ASSISTANCE THAT YOU CAN PROVIDE IN THIS MATTER. *JB
