1997 Jaguar XJ6 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 6 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 1997 Jaguar XJ6. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGES THIS IS ONGOING IN JAGUARS UNTIL CORRECTED IN 2001.OFTEN THERE IS NO RESPONSE TO PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR WILL JUMP FORWARD. PROBLEM WITH GAS PEDALS STICKING NOT DISCLOSED AT TIME OF PURCHASE. DEALERSHIP SAYS MAINT. NEEDED EVERY 5000-1000 MILES. WE HAD THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED 10 MONTHS AGO AND ONLY DROVE THE CARR APPROX. 2200 MILES SINCE. WE WERE NOT TOLD THIS NEEDED REGULAR MAINT. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PART WAS CLEANED AND SHOULD BE OKAY. NEVER WOULD WE HAVE PURCHASED A CAR KNOWING THAT THERE WAS A CHRONIC SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE GAS PEDAL STICKING. EVERY SERVICE REP. WE SPOKE TO AKNOWLEDGES THAT THEY HAVE HANDLED HUNDREDS OF THESE PROBLEMS. WHY WASN'T THERE A RECALL OR DISCLOSURE?*AK
