2003 Jaguar XJ8 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2003 Jaguar XJ8, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

  • Driver assistance133.3%

I HAVE PURCHASED NEW 2003 XJ8 JAGUAR. DRIVEN IN THE PAST 6 YEARS AS A SECOND CAR. HAVE ONLY 29,000 MIL AND THE FUEL PUMP TOTALLY MELTED. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR ANY INDICATION IT IMMEDIATELY DIED. I WAS LUCKY I WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE REPLACED IT WITH THE SAME KIND. WHAT I AM WORRIED IS TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. HELP! PLEASE. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JAGUAR XJ8. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS DEFECTIVE. SHE HAD TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO RELEASE THE DOOR LOCK AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. SHE FEELS THAT THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE SHE COULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,400.
