What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2018 Jayco Alante, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Driving when I heard a loud whisling, I check the driver side window but it was closed. I open and closed to ensure it wasn't the driver's side window. I pulled over at the next rest area and found the windshield has slipped out of the gasket. I drove very slow on the access road to get home. I called SW Mobile RV Inc Levy Loza 210-508-6015). He placed silicone around the windshield to keep the wind out so I could drive a short distance to a RV repair company. Mr. Loza stated if I continue to drive the windshield will fall out for there is nothing holding it in place except the gasket itself. The gasket came loose from the front cap; this will continue to happened until Jayco fixes the issue with the windshield. He advised I need to contact Jayco. I contacted Jayco dealership service department (Explore USA RV Supercenter 28970 IH-10 West Boerne, TX 78006 1-830-981-5618); the inquired about the chassis, I told them it was on a Ford 53 chassis, I was then told to contact Ford.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLAMS ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD AND IS DAMAGING THE WINDSHIELD WHEN EXCEEDING 36 MPH. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND NOT BEING ABLE TO MAINTAIN HIGHWAYS SPEEDS. PLUS THE WINDSHIELD IS BEING DAMAGED AND THE INTEGRITY OF WINDSHIELD MAY BECOME IN QUESTION. JAYCO HAD A RECALL FOR 2018 MODELS, BUT MANY WITH 2017 MODELS ALSO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I CONTACTED JAYCO AND JAYCO SAYS NOT UNDER THE RECALL, BUT YET MANY ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE MOTORHOMES OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL DATES.
