2022 Jeep Gladiator Electrical Problems

On July 30, my 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon suffered an extremely dangerous, unexpected complete electrical and engine failure while in operation. The vehicle abruptly shut down without any warning, causing an immediate loss of power steering and power braking. Prior to and during this shutdown, diagnostic codes associated with lost communication were triggered, (Lost Communication with Transmission Control Module). A total loss of vehicle power and primary control systems while driving presents a severe, unacceptable safety hazard that places passengers and surrounding traffic at immediate risk of a high-speed collision or severe injury. Given that this model has low mileage (approximately 23,000 miles) and is under factory warranty, a catastrophic system shutdown like this indicates a critical safety defect within the electrical or powertrain control modules. I strongly urge the NHTSA to formally document and investigate this life-threatening defect to ensure manufacturer accountability and prevent potential accidents.

The camshaft went out, along with the rocker arms, cam phasers, there is a box on the passenger side wheel well that goes out and will not allow the truck to shift or go into park. There is now something wrong with the automatic start/stop as the light continues to be on in the dash. Things started to go out as soon as the warranty expired… The truck has 80kmi. We fix one problem only for more to pop up. We purchased the jeep brand new and everything since it has had one problem after another.

On 10/15/2025, I left work and started my 2022 Jeep Gladiator. The Instrument Control Panel was blank. I researched to see if it was something I could do. I checked the F15 and F41 fuses and all connections to the battery. During my research, I noticed there was a recall for this exact problem. I input my VIN to find out that my Gladiator was not involved. The EXACT same problem as the recall. Why not mine? I'm currently using my GPS to monitor my speed on my phone. I have no other warnings or information to know when I'm driving; being a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!

After returning from errand about a 20 minute drive, the vehicle was parked and turned off. A short time later we saw smoke coming from the hood and realized the vehicle was on fire. The fire was on the passenger side towards the front of the engine compartment. Looks like an electrical fire that started near the power steering pump/wiring.

I had been driving for about an hour returning from a camping trip when my wife and I noticed a burning smell in the cab of the vehicle. About 5 seconds later smoke began filling the interior. I pulled over and got my family out of the vehicle, which includes my wife, two kids and a dog. I went to the front of the vehicle and saw flames on the passenger side inner fender as well as the top of the passenger fender. With the help of a friend who was traveling with us, I was able to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher I always carry. I think its safe to say a vehicle fire put my entire families safety at risk. I have contacted my insurance company and filed a claim, however no inspections have been performed yet. There were no warning lamps indicating there was an issue.

Warning lights come up on the dashboard often (brake failure, airbag failure, steering failure, start/stop needs servicing, transmission needs servicing, pullover safely car will turn off, car not in park but it is and won’t turn off) the car turns itself on and off all day. From the beginning the vehicle had electrical issues, not connecting to my phone or Bluetooth, the screen not working, locking and unlocking only working from the key not using the passive entry and having to start the push button by pushing it with the key or it wouldn’t work, it’s gotten progressively worse and now mid drive it will slam to a stop like it hit a wall, flash all the system failure lights then just all the instrument panel lights, it turns on the windshield wipers, the hazards do not work, the headlights start flashing independently etc. it will not turn off or on. It has been towed to the shop twice for this where they replace the two batteries/fuse array and say they can’t get it to happen again but see the codes on the box. It’s spent a combined 140+ days in the shop at this point where I have to fight days to get a rental. The slamming to a stop mid drive is so harsh not only am I almost rear ended but also it’s torn my shoulder forming a cyst that I’ve had trigger point shots and physical therapy for and might need surgery yet they still refuse to buy it back. My 2022 Jeep Gladiator burned to the ground with 2,500 miles. Jeep sent out their fire investigator and they said it was not a manufacture defect on their part. Allstate sent out their fire investigator and he said it WAS a Jeep manufacturer issue. Both Jeep and Allstate denied to give me copies of the report findings. I was driving my Jeep Gladiator on [XXX] Shasta Co, CA, on a snowy mountain highway. I had my husband, two children and two dogs in the vehicle. Without warning the power steering went out. Within 20 seconds a steering wheel light appeared on the dash. Within approximately 20 more seconds, I was able to pull over into a plowed turnout. Our 2022 Gladiator has 1,758 miles on it and no modifications. It was last driven about two weeks ago. It burned to the ground [XXX] while parked next to our house. The fire started in the engine compartment. There were no warnings of symptoms and our jeep app showed everything was normal when last driven. It was investigated by the VRFA and I am waiting for their report. Insurance has not yet inspected. We reported it to the dealership we bought it from. On the [XXX] website, there is another 2022 Gladiator, also low mileage, that also burned to the ground while parked. That person's insurance stated that they believe it burned due to a manufacturer defect but there are no recalls. Not just not repair for faulty fuel pump as they continue to mfg vehicles but has electrical issues going to limp mode without warning causing dangerous issues driving with no power and lack of operational system.
