The defect: Jerr-Dan Corporation (Jerr-Dan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Heavy Duty Wrecker vehicles equipped with the optional recovery remote control. If the remote and control system switch is not turned off by the operator, after three minutes of remote inactivity, the truck's engine may unexpectedly shut down.
The risk: An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of crash.
The remedy: Jerr-Dan will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the remote, free of charge. The recall began August 15, 2019. Owners may contact Jerr-Dan customer service at 1-800-926-9666.

This communication to Jerr-Dan distributors was a reminder to follow the heavy-duty chassis manufacturer's instructions regarding the need for periodic inspection and tightening of suspension / axle components. This covers any Heavy-Duty Jerr-Dan Wreckers and Rotators (25/35/50T Wreckers, and 50T Rotator).
