What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2023 Kawasaki Zx-6R, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Each component in detail
What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Electrical
Reports naming the electrical system — wiring, battery, charging, control modules, infotainment and electrical accessories.

I've owned this vehicle since new. Purchased in 9/2022. Since then the code 62 has been set twice by the ECU, causing the throttle to hang-up at or near 4000 RPM. I had to turn off the ignition as well as the key. After restarting, the vehicle runs fine. The dealer looked at it & performed diagnostics, however when the vehicle is running well. They are unable to find a problem. This code & throttle hang-up issue is unpredictable & intermittent. Throttle hanging up at high RPM is scary & unsafe. Thanks!

Fuel system

Other / unspecified
Reports whose component NHTSA recorded as unknown, or that do not map to one of the categories above.

I was in low power mode with three traction control and was coming out of a turn, the back tire lost traction and was spinning. I almost did a complete 180 and was then upended over the bike. There wasn't any gravel, it hadn't rained, there weren't any obstacles in the road and there was no reason the back tire should have lost traction. Especially with the technology of the ZX6R with three levels of traction control.

Powertrain (other)
Powertrain reports that are not specifically the engine or transmission — driveshafts, axles, transfer cases and differentials.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
