What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2014 KTM 690 Enduro R, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

ON AUGUST 9, 2014 AT 2:00 PM WHILE RIDING THE KTM 690 ENDURO R ,I "[XXX]" STOPPED FOR LUNCH AFTER RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE FOR TWO HOURS. I LOOKED OVER THE MOTORCYCLE AND SAW ENGINE OIL POOLING FROM LEFT SIDE OF THE MOTOR. I LOOKED CLOSER AND SAW THAT THE ENGINE OIL WAS LEAKING AND POOLING INTO THE MOTORCYCLE'S ENGINE COVER FOR THE STATOR AND ALSO LEAKING DOWN INTO AND POOLING IN THE SKID PLATE IN FRONT OF THE REAR TIRE. AFTER CLEANING THE OIL OFF I RODE THE MOTORCYCLE HOME I HAD MORE ENGINE OIL IN THOSE SAME AREAS. I DID NOT RIDE THE MOTORCYCLE AFTER THAT. I CONTACTED THE MOTORCYCLE DEALER ,STARR CITY MOTORSPORTS OF ROANOKE VA AND SCHEDULED A TIME FOR THEM TO REPAIR THE LEAK ON 8/13/2014.THEY REPLACED THE STATOR GASKET, AFTER WAIT AFTER WAITING EIGHT HOURS THEY GAVE THE MOTORCYCLE BACK. WHEN RIDING THE BIKE BACK TO LOAD IT IN MY TRUCK I NOTICED THE REPAIR DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I STILL HAD MOTOR OIL LEAKING FROM THE LEFT SIDE POOLING ON THE ENGINE COVER. THE MECHANIC REINSPECTED THE MOTORCYCLE AND SAW THE OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE BASE GASKET OF THE CYLINDER. THE MOTORCYCLE IS STILL CURRENTLY IN THEIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS AWAITING PARTS. I PURCHASED THE BIKE FROM STARR CITY MOTORSPORTS ON AUGUST 6, 2014 BRAND NEW. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
