2016 Lexus IS200T Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Tire size 225/45 R 14 Purchased four tires April 22, 2019 and had to replace one tire on August 5, 2021 due to not keeping air, which I wasn't told why. Then I was having the same problem with another tire and this time was shown what the tire looked like, which is splitting, separating on the inside wall. On October 23, 2022 ordered a new tire and had them check the remaining two tires and they were both splitting, separating on the inside wall as well, which I had to order two more tires October 27, 2022 and I still have plenty of tread left.

PASSENGER HEADLIGHT LED LOW BEAM STOPPED WORKING AT 3 YRS 11MONTHS POST CAR PURCHASE. DEALER REPLACE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY UNDER WARRANTY, LED ECM ALSO FOUND NOT WORKING WITH NEW HEADLAMP ASSY. SIMILARLY THE DRIVER SIDE HIGH BEAM STRTED TO FADE AND DIAGNOSTIC FROM THE DEALER IS THAT IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THESE HEADLAMPS ASSEMBLY ARE COMPLETELY SEALED, WHICH MEANS THAT IF THE LED FAILS THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ( ~$1,100 ). MY CAR IS ABOUT TO GET THE SECOND HEADLAMP REPLACED , THIS TIME NOT UNDER WARRANTY.

BROUGHT A LEXUS IS200T IN MAY 2016 6 MONTHS INTO HAVING THE CAR THE AC AND AUDIO SYSTEM COMPLETELY WENT DEAD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY STATED I HAD PLACED A COIN IN THE RADIO HENCE THE SYSTEM SHUTTING DOWN I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE EVERYTHING. THEN 2 MONTHS LATER THE AC WENT AGAIN. TOOK IT IN AT THE ONE YEAR MARK THE CAR NEEDS TYRES, BRAKES, TROTLE BODY, INJECTORS AND ENGINE FILTERS. HOWEVER LEXUS REFUS TO HELP IN ANY WAY AND I DEED THIS TO BE UNFAIR CONSIDERING THIS CAR HAS SUCH FAULTS I REPLACED THE TYRES MY SELF HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT FIXIN THE ISSUES CAUSING THE TYRES TO GO BAD OR ISSUES MENTIONED. AFTER ONE YEAR BRAND NEW CAR I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE HAVING THIS MUCH ISSUE I DEED THIS CAR TO BE A LEMON. IM COMPLETELY DISGUSTED BY LEXUS AND WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER. THE CAR ALSO SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 LEXUS IS200T. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARD SQUEAKING SOUNDS FROM THE BRAKES WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT IF THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED, IT WOULD NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE DUE TO THE MATERIAL USED FOR THE BRAKE PADS ON THE 2016 LEXUS F-SPORT MODELS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900.
