The defect: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Lexus NX250, NX350, and Toyota Tundra vehicles. The Skid Control ECU within the Brake Actuator Assembly may falsely detect an overcurrent condition of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Actuator and enter a failsafe mode which prevents the EPB from being engaged. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."
The risk: An electronic parking brake that cannot be engaged while in "park," may result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will reprogram the Skid Control ECU, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 1, 2022. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 22TA11 and 22LA04.

The defect: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Lexus) is recalling certain 2022 NX250, NX350, NX350h, and NX450h+ vehicles. Missing spot-welds between the body panels and the front shock absorber mounting areas may cause the front shock absorber to separate from the mounting area.
The risk: A separated shock absorber can cause a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will add welds to body panels or replace the body panels where welds have failed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 10, 2022. Owners may contact Lexus customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Lexus's number for this recall is 22LA02.

TSB: A head unit software update is now available for 2022 model year LX 600, NX 250, NX 350, NX 350h, and NX 450h+ vehicles equipped with Lexus Multimedia (version 1020 or earlier). This update provides improved performance and capability for the following: ?User profile configuration and display. ?Cloud Navigation and Intelligent Voice Assistant. ?Mobile device connectivity. ?On-screen display and system settings/configuration. ?Security enhancements. A head unit software update is now available for 2022 LX 600, NX 250, NX 350, NX 350h, and NX 450h+ vehicles; and 2023 ES 250, ES 300h, ES 350 and UX 250h vehicles equipped with Lexus Multimedia (earlier than version 1040). This software update includes the following improvements: ?Cloud navigation. ?Intelligent assistant voice recognition. ?Showing and controlling explicit audio content. ?User interface. ?Bluetooth. ?Bug fixes. The software update removes the following feature: ?Hybrid radio. Vehicle operators can perform this update directly by accepting the on-screen notification, advising the software update is available, or by locating the software update from the Settings menu and initiating the available update. The release notes text below will be displayed to the customer: ?This software update includes the following improvements: Cloud navigation, Intelligent assistant voice recognition, Showing and controlling explicit audio content, User interface, Bluetooth, Bug fixes. It removes the following feature: Hybrid radio.? If it is necessary to perform the software update for a customer, follow the software update procedures in this bulletin. This is a phased rollout, which means that as time progresses, more vehicles will receive the update notification and ability to update the head unit. This timing will vary by location and may not display for every vehicle in one location at the same day/time.

TSB: Some 2022 ? 2023 model year Lexus vehicles may require the download and installation of vehicle specific software or configuration software when the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is replaced. Techstream software has been modified to indicate when configuration software is required. A new Configure column has been added to the Techstream Health Check Results screen to show when configuration software is available for a specific ECU.
