What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2017 Lexus Rc 200T, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE BREAK PADS TO MY 2017 LEXUS RC 200T ARE GRINDING INTO MY ROTORS. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES (4) AT FIRST I WAS FORCED TO PAY FOR THE ISSUE, WITH THE DEALER MAKING A RIDICULOUS CLAIM THAT A SMALL PEBBLE JUMPED IN BETWEEN MY BREAK PAD AND ROTORS. THE SECOND TIME THEY TOOK RESPONSIBILITY AND FILED A GOODWILL CLAIM AND REPLACED BRAKES AND DISCS. THIRD TIME THEY COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, REPLACED BREAKS AND DISCS. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR THE SAME THING. I'VE TOLD THEM THAT THEIR BREAK PAD SUPPLIER HAS GOT TO BE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE TECHNICIANS FIND THAT THE BREAK PADS HAVE LARGE METAL SHARDS WITHIN THE BREAK PAD WHICH KEEP GRINDING INTO THE DISCS RESULTING IN VERY UNSAFE BREAKING PERFORMANCE. I WASN'T GOING TO FILE THIS CLAIM SINCE THEY ARE VERY NICE ABOUT TRYING TO RESOLVE MY PROBLEM BUT TODAY I RECEIVED A CALL THAT SOUNDED SHADY WITH THE FIRST THING BEING SAID THAT THIS WASN'T A SAFETY ISSUE OR CONCERN BECAUSE THE CAR STILL STOPS AS INTENDED, WELL, THAT'S BOGUS. A VEHICLE BRAKES SHOULDN'T BE FORCED TO GRIND INTO THE DISCS IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP SAFELY. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
