1994 Lincoln Mark Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Fire reported

CAR INVOLVED IS A 1994 LINCOLN MARK VIII. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN GARAGE, ENGINE OFF AND KEY OUT OF IGNITION. THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE IN MY GARAGE AT 1:30 AM DUE TO THE BRAKE DE-ACTIVATION SWITCH, AS I HAVE RESEARCHED AFTER THE INCIDENT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FORD LINCOLN MERCURY VEHICLES. FORTUNATELY I HAPPEN TO HEAR THE ALARM GOING OFF, OTHERWISE MY ENTIRE HOME WOULD HAVE GONE UP IN FLAMES. THE RIGHT FENDER WELL, AIR SUSPENSION AND ENGINE WIRING HARNESS, HOOD AND ALL COMPONENTS OF THAT SECTION OF THE CAR WERE DESTROYED. PART OF MY GARAGE FLOORING WAS DESTROYED IN THE FIRE. THE PARTS ARE STILL IN MY POSSESSION AND THE CAR IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. PARTS ARE COSTLY. *JB

HEADLIGHTS ARE NO LONGER EFFECTIVE. THEY DO NOT PUT OUT ENOUGH LIGHT TO PROPERLY BE DRIVEN WITH AT NIGHT. DUE TO THIS ISSUE I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE THE VEHICLE SAFELY AT NIGHT. I HAVE TRIED NEW BULBS, HIGHER POWER BULBS, AND POLISHING THE PLASTIC LENSES ALL TO NO AVAIL. *NM
