The contact owns a 2018 Livin Lite Quicksilver hitched to a 2008 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the contact depressed the brake pedal, and the mounting bracket for the trailer axle fractured and detached from the trailer. The contact pulled the vehicle to the shoulder and retrieved the fender and the axle from the trailer. The highway patrol then instructed the contact to move the vehicle off the roadway. The contact was able to slowly drive the vehicle to a rest stop where he then called for assistance. The contact attempted to have the vehicle towed to two separate independent RV dealers; however, both dealers informed him that they could not service the RV. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The contact received assistance from a welding shop where the fenders and the mounting brackets were repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and asked for pictures of the damage and of the repair to the RV. The contact then received a response from the manufacturer that stated that they were not responsible for the failure of the RV. The RV was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 4,200.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 LIVIN LITE QUICKSILVER ROCK CLIMBER. WHILE BEING TOWED ON A TRAILER AT 62 MPH, THE ALUMINUM TOP OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD JUST PURCHASED THE CAMPER AND HAD NOT OPENED OR LATCHED THE TOP HIMSELF. THE CAMPER WAS TAKEN TO CHASE AUTO & RV (980 DEADWOOD ST, FORT PIERRE, SD 57532 (605) 945-2277), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE CAMPER WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER COULD NOT REACH A CONCLUSION AS TO WHAT CAUSED THE TOP TO OPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STRAPS ON THE CAMPER WERE RUBBER BALLED STRAPS THAT COULD NOT LATCH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT APPLICABLE.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
