The defect: HEATING ELEMENT IN OUTSIDE MIRROR, WHICH ADHERES TO THE REFLECTIVE ACRYLIC LENS, MAY SHORT DUE TO WATER BUILDUP IN MIRROR HOUSING.
The risk: THIS COULD RESULT IN MELTING OF THE LENS; DRIVER'S VIEWTHROUGH REAR VIEW MIRROR WOULD BE AFFECTED.
The remedy: REPLACE MIRRORS WITH UNITS DESIGNED TO PREVENT WATER BUILDUP.
